Although many areas of the museum complex can accommodate live performance, there are two performance spaces most often used:

The Soundings Theatre - a small conventional theatre auditorium, and the Touring Gallery, an open but eccentrically shaped gallery space which is sometimes used as a performance venue by the NZ Festival.
