|
|
|
Built
at the same time as the Invercargill State Insurance Theatrette, both
theatres were built on the ground floor of the new State Insurance buildings,
opening in 1978. Under CEO Neville Ainsworth, the State Insurance company
had already purchased Wellington's Grand
Opera House (in April 1977) and the Trinity Church adjoining their
Christchurch building, which was renovated and converted into a theatre
in 1975.
