Auditorium

During restoration in 1990, as well as repairs and refurbishment, new seats were installed, along with new ventilation and sprinkler systems.
A hydraulic stage lift was also installed, allowing equipment to enter the auditorium via the basement dockway.
Also improved was the groundfloor layout, now allowing entry off Civic Square, and a public promenade virtually around the whole auditorium.
Able to seat 2000 people, the venue retains its renowned acoustics and century-old atmosphere within a modern building environment.
