During upgrading and restoration of the Town Hall in 1990/91, the original Concert Chamber (right) was demolished, and a new space created in an area that was office space and part of the basement in the south east corner of the Town Hall building.

The Ilott Theatre seats 300 in comfortable seats, has a good acoustic, and is used for concerts, conferences etc.

Adjacent to the theatre is the Ilott Foyer, where patrons can gather pre and post show, and from where refreshments can be served.
